Staying Safe Online

SMART

At school we encourage children to be SMART when online.

We teach online safety at least termly and use every opportunity to remind our children about the ways they can protect themselves online.

Being cyber-smart is linked to our ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ message. We remind children that it is important to connect with others but we need to be safe when doing so.

Issues linked to cyber-bullying are treated seriously by the school and we involve the police where that is deemed necessary. We do not tolerate cyber-bullying and will investigate all reported incidents, even when they have taken place outside school.

There are many online groups with information about being cyber-safe, which families may wish to explore.
