Safety, Learning, Respect- our three key values

KS2 Little Lifers First Aid training

Flat Stan came to visit our Key Stage Two class this February. He taught us how to help someone who is injured, poorly or upset.

We know what to do in an emergency:

  • Get an adult by shouting for help
  • Call 999
  • Treat the person until help arrives

We have been taught to think about DRAB in this situation. D is for Danger, look for danger and protect yourself. R is for response- check the patient is able to respond to you by speaking to them and gently shaking their shoulders. A is for Airway- check the airway is clear. B is for breathing, we need to check to see if the patient is breathing.

We learnt to put someone in recovery position, how to do CPR and to help someone who is choking. We also learnt how to bandage a wound.
